Expanded this year - VSCDA and the Historic Race Circuits Preservation Society (HRC) have joined forces to make Saturday, September 11 an all day affair celebrating the 60th anniversary of open road sports car racing in and around Elkhart Lake. 9 am-1:30 pm - Historic Fun Based Sports Car Rally with 50-100 rally teams of 2 and breakfast and lunch. Noon-7 pm - Car show and Concours e'Provenance. Cars valued in excess of $25 million displayed on the Osthoff lawn. 75-100 cars and 2,500-3000 spectators. VSCDA's Gather on the Green continues. 3-6 pm - Road Course Reenactment (a police escorted tour of the historic circuits. Cars staged on Lake Street and the walkway from 3-5 pm. At 5:30 pm, 100 tours will tour the historic circuits and return to the village. John Fitsch, 1952 race winner, will serve as Grand Marshall. At 6 pm - VSCDA Banquet Cocktail Reception with 7 pm banquet at The Osthoff. John Fitsch will be the guest speaker.Visit www.historicircuits.com.

Early check-in for all routes on Friday, September 17 from 1-7 pm AT MAYWOOD. Day-of-ride check-in at LINCOLN-ERDMAN SCHOOL begins at 6:30 am. Maywood Earth Ride is for any age and cycling ability: individuals, families and groups. All participants have a chance to win great door prizes, including a free bicycle from Wolf Cycle & Fitness! This ride is a tour, NOT a race nor competitive event. We encourage riders to take their time and enjoy the great outdoors! Five scenic routes of 12, 25, 50, 70 & 100 miles. All start and finish at Maywood's Ecology Center. To promote safety, helmets are required. St. Nicholas Hospital will be selling bicycle helmets before the ride.
