Forever Ella – February 13
Dubbed “The First Lady of Song,” ELLA FITZGERALD was the most popular female jazz singer in the United States for more than half a century. In her lifetime, she won 13 Grammy awards and sold over 40 million albums. She could sing sultry ballads, sweet jazz and imitate every instrument in an orchestra. She worked with all the jazz greats, from Duke Ellington, Count Basie and Nat King Cole, to Frank Sinatra, Dizzy Gillespie and Benny Goodman.
Multi-talented singer, songwriter, JANICE MARIE will be performing “Forever Ella,” a musical and narrative show based on the life of Miss Ella Fitzgerald. The show is presented by the Plymouth Arts Center as part of its Wisconsin Performing Artist Series. This one- time performance will be held at the PAC, 520 East Mill Street, Downtown Plymouth, Wisconsin, SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 13, 7:30 pm. JAZZ ‘N MORE is one of Wisconsin’s hottest jazz duos! You loved them at the Cheese Capital Jazz Crawl for the past five years. Joe & Janice each have more than 35 years each experience entertaining audiences throughout the state. This group is known for their performances at Wisconsin’s finest jazz festivals, theatres, and conventions including the Kettle Moraine Jazz Festival, Headlining the LaCrosse Jazz Festival, the EAA Convention in Oshkosh, Milwaukee’s ”Jazz in the Park” series, the Plymouth Jazz Crawl, Summerfest, Cedarburg Cultural Center, and many others. Jazz ‘n More was also the main act for the Wisconsin Epilepsy Foundation’s “Toast of the Town”, Milwaukee’s largest fundraiser.
JANICE MARIE has remained constant in her love for music and people for over the past thirty years. “Whether I am in the studio recording, directing a children’s choir, or composing, I consider myself blessed to be able to share life through the beauty of music”. Janice embraced the name Jazz N’ More to describe their performance style which includes everything from Rock and Roll, Big Band, Country and Blues, to Jazz. Their show “Forever Ella”, has become one of Janice’s passions. Janice’s CD, “Forbidden Love”, portrays her talents as a composer, arranger, producer and vocalist.
JOE SCHEIBINGER is a first class musician and entertainer. He has opened for many national acts including John Denver, Johnny Rivers, and cast members from the Lawrence Welk Show. Janice and Joe first met on Joe’s radio show “Backstage Live” back in 2003 and they have been performing together ever since.
